Just months after its history-making 233 mph top speed run at a test track in Germany, the 2025 Chevy Corvette ZR1 is record-setting again as Chevrolet announces the starting cost of the quickest accelerating Corvette at a $173,300 MSRP, and with that, the highest-horsepower production Corvette now becomes the highest-priced production Corvette. Although it can ring up as a steep cash drop for a domestic sports car, it is a no-brainer-must-have when considering its exotic-esque beauty and approximate $165 per horsepower cost. It simply ends up being quite the bargain to drive the mid-engine American icon with the most powerful V-8 ever produced by a U.S. auto manufacturer.
The $173,300 price tag comes on the 2025 Corvette ZR1 1LZ coupe, enhanced with the DFC increases the cost by $1,695 for a base total of $174,995. The droptop version of the 1LZ adds another $10,000. An upgrade to the 3LZ with the DFC will boost the base cost to $185,995 and again the convertible will spike the bottom line by another $10,000. Chevy will open orders for the 2025 Corvette ZR1 by mid-February. Bowling Green will kick off production by June of 2025. We can’t wait.
The 2025 Corvette ZR1 Has The Most Powerful V-8 Ever Produced
The 2025 ZR1 eighth-gen Corvette’s performance is attributed to a hand-assembled, twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter, LTC DOHC flat-plane crank V-8 that is capable of producing 1,064 horsepower and 828 pound-feet of torque. The ZR1’s four-digit horsepower is unmatched by any other current factory-produced vehicle for under $1 million. The optimized ZR1 can clock a 0 to 60 in 2.3 seconds and a sub-10-second quarter-mile, while its carbon fiber aero package can create over 1,200 pounds of downforce, practically translating to pennies on the dollar for streetable track domination – comparatively.
“It was important for us to stay true to Corvette’s promise of a vehicle whose world-class capabilities completely outmatch its price,” said Scott Bell, vice president of global Chevrolet.

Four-Digit Horsepower Comes In All Models And Trims
The 1LZ and 3LZ are the two available trims on the 2025 Corvette ZR1. Both can be ordered as a coupe or convertible and all are equipped with the same high-horse V-8 and carbon ceramic brakes. The ZTK Performance Package can be added to either for $1,500 and the standard aero package can be upgraded with the ZR1 Carbon Fiber Aero Package, which includes a rear high-downforce wing, adding $8,495. It may be a little more than many want to spend for a daily, but there are plenty of other 2025 C8s for that.
