The Toyota bZ4X electric SUV is gradually gaining popularity in the United States. The company delivered 9,329 of them in 2023. However, the automaker already moved 13,577 units of the model in just the first three quarters of 2024.
The 2025 bZ4X gets several upgrades, but the powertrain remains the same. Buyers can get a front-wheel-drive version that makes 201 horsepower and can reach 60 miles per hour in 7.1 seconds. There’s also the 214-horsepower all-wheel-drive variant that gets to 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds.

The Nightshade Edition
Beyond the lower prices, Toyota also introduces the new Nightshade Edition trim that adds dark styling details to the bZ4X. This model comes exclusively with the all-wheel-drive powertrain. Buyers can select a pair of two-tone color schemes, with a Wind Chill Pearl or Heavy Metal body and a black roof. An all-black look is also available. In addition, the Nightshade Edition features black 20-inch wheels and dark trim for the badges, door handles, and rear spoiler.
This model’s cabin includes a mix of SofTex synthetic leather and fabric upholstery. The steering wheel has a leather-trimmed rim with red stitching.
Updates To The Limited Trim
The 2025 bZ4X Limited grade has improved safety tech. The Traffic Jam Assist can handle steering, braking, and acceleration at speeds under 25 miles per hour on freeways. Front Cross-Traffic Alert detects approaching vehicles at intersections. The model also gains Lane Change Assist.
