After a years-long hiatus, Toyota revived the Supra name for the 2020 model year. Some folks complained about it sharing significant elements with the BMW Z4. Others were just happy to see a new sports coupe from the Japanese brand.

Now, the current Supra is nearing retirement, and Toyota is saying farewell to it in style by launching the 2026 GR Supra MkV Final Edition. The model makes a public premiere at the Grand Prix of Long Beach, which runs from April 11-13.

Toyota will start delivering the 2026 Supra to dealers in the spring. The vehicle’s production will end in spring 2026. No pricing details for the Final Edition are available at this time.

The 2026 GR Supra MkV Final Edition

Toyota gives the Final Edition a comprehensive array of upgrade parts and aesthetic enhancements. The new bodykit includes:

  • Front wheel arch flaps
  • Front tire spats.
  • A carbon-fiber ducktail spoiler.
  • The car rides on 10-spoke 19-inch wheels with a matte black finish

Customers looking for a track-inspired appearance can specify the optional GT4 style pack. It allows buyers to select the matte exterior colors Burnout and Undercover. In addition, there are:

  • Side graphics
  • Matte finish for the ducktail spoiler
  • Matte-black rear Supra emblem
  • Red mirror caps.

Inside, the front seats feature Alcantara upholstery with leather trim, red stitching, and an embroidered GR logo. Crimson highlights also appear on the gearshift knob and seatbelts. This special edition also comes with a GR-branded cupholder cover and a camouflage-patterned car cover.

Mechanical Upgrades

The GR Supra MkV Final Edition backs up its aggressive appearance with a few mechanical upgrades. For example, there’s new software mapping for controlling the differential that results in improved traction and reduced understeer. Revisions to the power steering create a more direct feel.

Revised suspension tuning includes a tweaked camber angle for the tires at the front and rear. The front stabilizer is stronger, and the shocks have revised tuning. The bushings in the front control arms and rear sub-frame are harder for a stiffer structure. There’s also a tougher underbody brace.

The powertrain doesn’t change, though. The turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine produces 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. Buyers can select an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission.

TopSpeed’s Take

The Final Edition seems like a proper swansong for the current Supra. It looks sharper than the standard model. The small mechanical tweaks should sharpen the coupe’s handling by making the car stiffer. The lingering question is how much this extra equipment costs. Regardless of the figure, we suspect this special edition might be tempting to Supra enthusiasts.
