Straight-line records are wild, with enthusiasts doing their best to bump up performance, tweak the powertrain components, and shave as much weight as possible to hit a home run. But here we have a turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa doing the same by adding more weight. The caveat here is that the added weight is due to the presence of a pillion rider, as two high-speed enthusiasts are on a quest to beat the two-up fastest motorcycle speed record. This duo managed to hit a top speed of well over 200 mph during test runs, and the coast looks clear to beat the former record holders.
A Two-Up Suzuki Hayabusa Hit A Top Speed Of Well Over 200 MPH
Jared ‘Jack’ Frost of Holeshot Racing and a fellow top-speed competitor, Paul Milbourn, achieved a top speed of 224 MPH atop a two-up Suzuki Hayabusa. Hitting these speeds as a solo rider is in itself a challenge, and here we have two straight-speed enthusiasts doing a two-up high-speed run. Making this run even more impressive is the fact that the pillion rider, Paul, is a sizable individual, standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing close to 200 pounds with riding gear. This attempt was not without its challenges. Here’s what Jared Frost had to say about this two-up speed run to our friends at Motorcycle News,
It was the first time I’d ever set-off with someone that big on the back of a bike,” he continued. “I’ve never ridden with a big passenger before, but it all felt fine, so we just set-off to see how it went. We did another run with a little bit more throttle and did 224mph, and then did two more runs and tried a bit harder but kind of messed up, I just ran a bit more throttle as I shifted through gears, and it unsettled the bike a little bit as I shifted into fourth. It just weaved a bit, so I came off the throttle and reopened the throttle and still went through at 211mph and did exactly the same on the fourth run.
Additionally, this Busa has been modified with a pillion seat and other enhancements, including special grab handles on the sides of the fuel tank to provide the pillion rider with a firm grip. The passenger and rear seating setup together adds another 242.5 pounds. We know that weight is the enemy of any top-speed run. But this Hayabusa is far from stock and produces insane performance numbers to counter that.
This Turbocharged Hayabusa Packs Lambo-Level Power
Power: 800 HP
The insane motorcycle is a wildly modified Suzuki Hayabusa. For those who have been closely following Jared ‘Jack’ Frost’s speed runs, you will be familiar with this winged Busa. This is the same modified second-generation Hayabusa that had breached the 270-mph barrier in 2023, achieving a top speed of 274.9 mph. This was also the attempt that beat Guy Martin’s speed record.
The only stock components on Jack’s turbocharged Hayabusa are its crankcase and the original bore and stroke. Its internals are reinforced with high-endurance pistons and a crankshaft to withstand the harsh conditions of high temperatures and pressure. The jacked-up Busa engine produces a whopping 800 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque.
For reference, the stock second-generation Hayabusa, packing the famed 1,340 cc (1.3-liter) four-cylinder engine, produced 196 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque. In other words, this winged and turbocharged Hayabusa is just two horses shy of the revived Lamborghini Countach LPI-800-4! Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a chain-driven, custom billet gearbox and clutch basket, featuring a multistage lock-up clutch and billet gear selector forks and shafts.

A New World Record In The Making
Jared ‘Jack’ Frost and Paul Milbourn are attempting to set a new world record for the “Fastest speed on a tandem motorcycle”. Popular TV icon Henry Cole and engineer Allen Milliyard currently hold this record. This pair achieved 183.5 mph in 2023, atop Millyard’s custom-made motorcycle, which featured an 8.0-liter Viper V10 engine. The turbocharged Busa duo, which breached the 200-mph mark, was part of practice runs aimed at breaking the Viper V10-bike’s world record.
