For folks who haven’t been following international news, revolutionaries recently deposed Syria’s leader, Bashar al-Assad. What does that have to do with cars, though? Assad abandoned his massive collection of fascinating vehicles when he fled the country, and someone recorded a video of him driving through the enormous garage.

As a brief history listen, Assad succeeded his father to become Syria’s leader in 2002. He served as an authoritarian and had been fighting a rebellion since the Arab Spring in 2011, according to The Guardian. He received support from Russia and Iran to fight the insurgency. The power struggle finally ended in December 2024, and Assad fled to Russia.

Check Out Assad’s Cars

With the history out of the way, let’s see what vehicles Assad owned. The first highlight in the video comes just two seconds into the video. A bright red Lamborghini LM002 is particularly eye-catching, especially next to an anonymous-looking black third-generation
. The camera then pans to the other side to reveal a pair of black Toyota FC Cruisers. Apparently, Assad had a thing for quirky SUVs.

He liked red Italian supercars, too. One row includes a
,
, and
. This trio alone is worth about $3.8 million, based on Hagerty’s current valuations.

Don’t blink, or you might miss a brief glimpse of a Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman limousine. Authoritarian leaders have quite a taste for these cars. Other owners of Mercedes 600s included Idi Amin, Josip Tito, and Saddam Hussein.

Next, there’s a look at two more of Assad’s high-end machines. He’s got a black
and a black Bentley Continental GT. Both of them are luxurious, high-performance vehicles.

Assad also has the luxury sedans you would expect an ultra-rich person to own. Four-door vehicles from Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Rolls-Royce all show up in his collection.

Take a look and tell us in the comments which of Assad’s vehicles you’d like to own. There’s quite a selection to pick from, including supercars, SUVs, and luxury sedans.

The Future Of These Cars

The burning question about this video is what is going to happen to these vehicles. As the rest of the video shows, people are already looting Assad’s palace in Damascus. It’s full of high-end fashion, art, and furniture.

His car collection is worth millions of dollars if someone can extricate them from this garage and get them on the open market. The F50 alone could be worth millions of dollars to collectors.

TopSpeed’s Take

These massive car collections are always amazing to see. Regular folks may dream about owning one of these vehicles if they save for years, but this authoritarian leader has a garage full of amazing machines.
