Kia announced that EV6, EV9, and Niro EVs will all be able to charge on NACS-compatible chargers, including Tesla’s Supercharger network. The new compatibility opens up some 21,000 chargers to owners nationwide, which Kia says nearly doubles the number of DC fast chargers available to owners. Owners can access the Supercharger network via the Kia Access app.
NACS Access Creates A More Robust Network For Kia EV Owners
With the expansion to NACS compatibility, Kia says the total number of charges available to owners rises to “more than” 40,000 fast chargers. Customers will also be able to search for, locate, and navigate to available chargers via Kia’s infotainment and through phone mirroring software like CarPlay and Android Auto.
Kia is committed to an exceptional ownership experience and expanding the network of available DC fast chargers to our EV customers is an important component to maintaining the brand’s leadership in electrified mobility.

Kia Owners With CCS Ports Are Included
Owners of CCS-equipped Kia EVs aren’t left out in the cold. Kia has previously shipped CCS to NACS adapters to dealers. Customers who purchased a 2024 or 2025 Kia EV9 or 2024 Kia EV6 after September 4, 2024, got the adapter free of charge. Owners of older models will have to pay for theirs, however. Regardless, the automaker currently offers three adapters that will guarantee access to NACS chargers, regardless of the car’s original port. Kia owners can purchase a NACS to CCS1 adapter, a CCS1 to NACS adapter, or a J1772 to NACS adapter. It’s important to note your Kia EV doesn’t need to come with a native NACS port for you to have access to the network, or the ability to locate a NACS charger via the car’s infotainment or the Kia Access app.
TopSpeed’s Take
Expanded charger access is only a good thing. EV adoption rates have slowed, and making charging more streamlined and simplified for owners new and old is key to maintaining the appeal of owning an EV. Kia now joins ten more automakers that also use the NACS-style port: Ford, Rivian, GM, Volvo, Polestar, Nissan, Lucid, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, and Genesis.
