Drivers JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas, and Masanori Sekiya drove the McLaren F1 GTR to an overall win at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans. The rain was the great equalizer in that year’s event because it gave the British brand’s production-derived machine an edge against theoretically quicker prototypes. In 1997, the car placed second and third overall at the race.
