Tesla’s launch events are usually quite exciting. Pick any debut event so far and you’ll remember some incident from it. Now, we’re on the brink of yet another event, this time, the debut of the Tesla RoboTaxi, and it will be no exception. The event will be live-streamed on a variety of platforms, and here are all the details you need to know.
The Tesla RoboTaxi Will Debut On 10.10.2024
Tesla is set to unveil the RoboTaxi on the 10th of October; two months after it was originally supposed to debut. It will take place at Warner Bros. Discovery’s movie studio in Burbank, California from 5 pm PT (8 pm EST). The event, called “We, Robot”, will be live-streamed on the automaker’s YouTube page as well as on Tesla’s official X handle. At the time of writing this, Tesla had not yet started the countdown to the event, which is why we haven’t embedded it here.
Now, we couldn’t help but wonder what the RoboTaxi would look like, and we asked Musk’s Grok AI to generate some images for us. Here’s what the tool thinks it would look like, and honestly, the designs don’t look bad.
While there’s not much officially confirmed about the RoboTaxi yet, there are a lot of rumors and speculations that have been floating over the internet. Some patents indicate a RoboTaxi Sanitization system and wireless EV charging, which could make for some interesting developments should Tesla choose to reveal anything on these lines.
We Could See Stuff Beyond The RoboTaxi As Well
Apart from the RoboTaxi, Tesla could also showcase the much-anticipated . However, it was also said that the latter was delayed in order to get the RoboTaxi rolling. Some speculations indicate three vehicles being launched at the event, with the third one being a CyberVan. The production version might be years away, but Tesla could show us a prototype. See this as a bigger autonomous version of the RoboTaxi, if you will, with an ability to seat 10 people.
To make things even more interesting, we could even see Tesla’s robot, the Optimus. The event is called “We, Robot”, which could be a sly wordplay on multiple “Robot” products being unveiled; and the RoboTaxi and are the obvious answers. Another point of focus could be the Full Self Driving (FSD) tech, something that’s the essence of the RoboTaxi and presumably, the mythical CyberVan.
All said, take these pieces of rumors and speculations with a pinch of salt because there’s no official word from Tesla about any of it. We’ll probably have answers to all of these on the 10th of October.
