Not long ago, we told you about how Harley-Davidson made a shock move and reduced the Sportster range’s MSRP. That move helped H-D beat its arch-rival–Indian Motorcycles–by offering a more capable cruiser at the same price as Indian’s cheapest offering. Now, the bikemaker is doing the same with some of its popular Softail models, making life even worse for its American counterpart. Here’s what you need to know.
The 2025 Harley-Davidson Street Bob Now Costs Under $16,000
For 2025, the Softail Standard got the boot, and the Street Bob took over as the “cheapest” Softail cruiser you could get. That meant the cost of admission for the Softail lineup had increased from under $15,000 to over $17,000. But now, Harley has made big amends.
The 2025 Street Bob’s MSRP has been slashed to just $15,999–a sizable $1,200 less than the previous price. In fact, this price is also lower than the 2024 Street Bob that sold for $16,999. So you’re essentially paying less now, even though you get a bigger engine and more features.
Meanwhile, The Low Rider S Can Now Be Had For Less Than $20,000
Another Softail with a price reduction is the uber-popular Low Rider S. Its MSRP drops from the previous $20,499 figure to $19,999. That’s the same price as the 2024 bike. So, like the Street Bob, you’re getting more power and better features here for no extra money. More importantly, at this revised price, the Low Rider has the same price as its arch-rival, the Indian Sport Chief.

The 2025 Road King Special Also Receives A Minor Price Revision
Aside from the Softails, Harley-Davidson has made its entry-level Grand American Touring bike cheaper, too. The Road King Special now sells for $24,999–$750 less than its previous $25,749 MSRP. That’s the same price as the 2024 model, although there weren’t many changes for the Road King in 2025 anyway. Even with the revision, this is still considerably pricier than its arch-rival, the BMW R 18 Roctane.
