Just days ago, we told you about Suzuki’s newest middleweight retro bikes: the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT. Now, these bikes have entered the North American market as part of the 2026 lineup. While the new GSX duo is a welcome addition, there is a big catch that will leave you scratching your head. Here’s what you need to know.

The 2026 Suzuki GSX-8T Is Considerably Pricier Than The GSX-8S

Suzuki has priced the GSX-8T at $10,649 while the GSX-8TT comes in at $11,149. At this price, the 8T is a sizable $1,400 costlier while the 8TT is $1,900 pricier than the GSX-8S. More importantly, that price means the GSX-8T also costs more than all of its rivals. The Yamaha XSR700 sells for a whopping $2,050 less, while the Kawasaki Z650RS is $1,750 cheaper than the Suzuki.

To make matters worse, even the Yamaha XSR900 is slightly cheaper than the GSX-8T. We can’t say we’re completely surprised by these high prices, though. After all, the company did the same with its updated DR-Z4S not too long ago. Anyway, you can have the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT in two colors each. We’ve listed them below:

Suzuki GSX-8T And GSX-8TT Colors

  • Candy Burnt Gold (8T)
  • Metallic Matte Black (8T)
  • Pearl Matte Shadow Green (8TT)
  • Glass Sparkle Black (8TT)

A 776cc, Parallel-Twin Engine Powers The GSX-8T And GSX-8TT

If you can look past the price, the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT do somewhat bring quality bits and bobs all around. For starters, you get Suzuki’s 776cc, parallel-twin engine, which produces 82 horsepower and 57 pound-feet. That is more than both of its rivals–the XSR700 and Z650RS. You also get better electronic aids than both of these, in the form of traction control, quickshifter, ride modes, and ABS.

Then, housing the engine is a tubular steel chassis. This joins hands with adjustable KYB USD forks and a KYB monoshock. These, along with the triple discs and Nissin calipers, all come straight from the GSX-8S. In comparison, both the XSR and Z650 have a lot simpler mechanical components. Last but not least, we dig the design, too. The GSX-8T’s inspiration is the 1968 T500, while the GSX-8TT mimics the iconic GS1000S.
