There’s no denying Harley-Davidson has increased its focus on performance in recent years. Its new engines–such as the Milwaukee-Eight 121–have paved a new path for the brand, one that chases triple-digit horsepower and torque figures. With that also comes a new era of customization, where bike shops eke out power figures William S Harley would never have imagined.

One such example comes from Tennessee-based Moonshine Harley. The shop has whipped up a custom CVO Road Glide ST that produces more power than liter-class superbikes. Oh, and it also has 2x the torque.

Moonshine’s CVO Road Glide ST Has A 143ci V-twin Engine

The base bike here was the CVO Road Glide ST. It has a Milwaukee-Eight 121 High Output engine, good for 127 horsepower and 145 pound-feet. Though already mighty for most people, Moonshine wanted to push the boundaries. Thus began the chase for serious horsepower. Most notably, the bike now runs Harley’s 135ci crate engine with an MHP 143 big bore kit.

Combined, you’re looking at close to 2,400cc, up from the 1,982cc stock setup. Along with this, Moonshine has also thrown in a custom flywheel, MHP camshaft, MHP Lightning pushrods, ported CNC head with oversized valves, Rekluse clutch, and 68 mm throttle bodies. A special mention goes to the custom MHP Top Fuel exhaust system.

It’s a two-into-two setup built specifically to boost low-end grunt. Speaking of which, the final figures here are 193 horsepower and 168 pound-feet. These are dyno-tested numbers, so the crank figures should be in the 200 horsepower ballpark. That makes this more powerful than the Suzuki GSX-R1000, Honda CBR1000RR, and even the stupid fast Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R.

Ohlins Suspension And Carbon Fiber Parts Ensure You Can Enjoy All The Power

With great power comes great responsibility….of staying upright. So Moonshine has ensured the underpinnings match the upgraded engine. Up top, you get Screamin’ Eagle Ohlins forks, clamped onto a Kraus triple-tree. At the rear, there are dual Screamin Eagle shock absorbers. Other than this, you’ll find ample carbon fiber all around. The front fender, rear fender, saddlebox lids, side covers, and radiator shrouds all have forged carbon finishes.

To round off, this is easily one of the mightiest CVO Street Glides we’ve seen in recent times. While it looks like a normal ST from afar, the performance under the skin is beyond mind-bending. Sadly, we don’t know how much all this will set you back, but we can suggest you get in touch with Moonshine Harley directly. The shop has several custom bikes under its belt, so it can help you do something even more extreme (should you want it).
