The liter-class superbike segment in America has just gotten hotter than ever, all thanks to Aprilia. The Noale factory has launched the 2025 RSV4 1100 in the US, armed with more power than all of its rivals. What makes matters sweeter is a competitive MSRP of under $20,000. Here’s what you need to know.

The New Aprilia RSV4 Has An Updated V4 Engine With 220 Horsepower

The RSV4 deploys a 1,099cc, 65-degree V4 mill that now runs 52 mm throttle bodies. This helps it produce 220 horsepower–three up from the 2024 model. That output puts it well ahead of all of its rivals, like the 213-HP Ducati Panigale V4, 215-HP Honda CBR1000RR-R, and the 210-HP BMW S 1000 RR. All three make even less power in their US trims, while the RSV4 continues to have all of its might here.

Although this is the most powerful RSV4 yet, Aprilia has left the underpinnings largely unchanged for 2025. An aluminum perimeter chassis serves as the centerpiece, cradled onto fully adjustable Sachs USD forks and a Sachs monoshock. This joins hands with 17-inch alloy wheels. The only notable change here comes to the brakes, which now has Brembo Hypure calipers in place of the Stylemas.

MotoGP-Derived Electronics And Design Make The RSV4 1100 Even Better

Since 220 ponies is no joke, you have oodles of electronics to watch your back. These rider aids have been refined for 2025 to make the bike safer and faster under you. The list of standard bits includes:

  • Eight-level traction control with integrated slide control
  • Three-level adaptive wheelie control
  • Three engine maps
  • Three-level engine brake control
  • Two-way quickshifter

What makes matters sweeter is an updated design. Yes, the RSV4 still looks very much like an RSV4 from 2024. But a closer look will reveal new MotoGP-like aerodynamic wings up front, a revised tail section, and reworked fairings. The result is a 6 percent decrease in the drag coefficient and 8 percent less wheelie tendency.

The RSV4 Factory Adds Ohlins Suspension And Even More Features To The Table

Like yesteryears, there’s a Factory version of the RSV4 in 2025. The biggest difference from the base bike is the inclusion of Ohlins USD forks and an Ohlins monoshock–both with electronic adjustability for easy tweaking. The other change is to the electronics. You get added features here in addition to the standard bits, such as:

  • Launch control
  • Dedicated slide control
  • Cruise control
  • Corner-by-corner function for TC and AWC
  • Pit limiter
  • GPS lap timer
  • Three track riding modes

The 2025 Aprilia RSV4 Starts From $19,499

This is where the RSV4 sweeps the rug from under its rivals. It starts at $19,499, which is just $500 more than the 2024 model. More importantly, this is almost $6,500 less than the next V4 superbike: the Panigale V4. The base S 1000 RR is $500 cheaper, but even picking a different color brings the price very close to the RSV4. As for the RSV4 Factory, you’ll have to pay $26,499 to take that home. That is again cheaper than the CBR1000RR-R SP and the Panigale V4 S.
