It is often the case that when a wealthy person approaches a company such as Rolls-Royce to build a bespoke version of one of its vehicles, the results can be hard to appreciate if you’re not the one who ordered it. The saying, “A face only a mother could love,” comes to mind.

This is not one of those cases. Rolls-Royce has designed a bespoke version of its Black Badge Cullinan Series II SUV for a customer with obviously good taste and an interesting story. The theme of the bespoke commission is the daisy, inspired by a field of the humble flower on the owner’s favorite hiking trail in the High Tatras mountains that form the border between Slovakia and Poland.

The Daisy Cullinan

For starters, the Daisy Cullinan, as the owner refers to it, is based on the Black Badge Cullinan Series II. As you can see, however, it’s not been murdered out like so many Black Badge models. Instead, the SUV is bathed in a soft Powder Blue exterior, and the only nod to its bespoke nature is a hand-painted daisy flower added to the coachline that rings the vehicle. A bit of black does mark the exterior where they’ve left a darkened Pantheon grille, Spirit of Ectasy hood ornament, and other exterior trim that would normally be polished metal.

The SUV’s interior is equally as subtle, but there’s more going on here than the exterior. The dashboard and waterfall section between the rear seats are made of a Blackwood surface that’s been etched with a single daisy. Rolls-Royce used a special sandblasting technique to create the intricate artwork that appears three-dimensional.

The rest of the interior is upholstered in a trio of colors that includes Fleet Blue for the main leather and complimenting Selby Grey and Black for the other leathers. Bespoke illuminated sillplates with a daisy design also greet you when you enter, and when you look up, you’ll see Rolls-Royce’s iconic Starlight Headliner. This headliner, though, is bespoke to the client and features four of the constellations visible in the night sky of northern latitudes, the same ones they would see while walking in the Tatras Mountains at night.

To finish things off with a flourish, Rolls-Royce even customized its trademark umbrella that fits inside the rear doors; a pattern of daisies can be seen inside the umbrella only when it’s open. Lastly, as the owner made their money in the outdoor adventure and equipment business, there’s a Recreation Module built into the floor of the rear cargo area where the owner’s well-worn hiking equipment goes.

TopSpeed’s Take

This bespoke commission is an incredible example of a vehicle being elevated by an owner’s personal style. That’s not what usually happens when someone commissions a one-of-one ultra-luxury vehicle. It’s more often the case that something is created with a retina-searing color and off-putting accessories. But not this time. From the soft blue exterior to the lovingly etched wood veneers inside the cabin, this Cullinan is as simple and elegant as the flower that inspired it.
