Acura is expanding its SUV portfolio with the introduction of the all-new 2025 ADX, a premium compact crossover designed to attract younger buyers to the brand. Positioned as a gateway model, the ADX joins Acura’s growing lineup of SUVs, which includes the RDX, MDX, and the all-electric ZDX. It was originally expected to be an all-electric crossover in a space now filled aby the ZDX, though, little else has been known about it outside of rumors that it would be more than a rebadged Honda HR-V. Now we know for sure.
A Familiar Powertrain Straight From The Acura Integra
The 2025 ADX shares its
, which means power comes from a turbocharged 1.5-liter VTEC four-cylinder engine. The direct-injected powerplant features a high-efficiency turbocharger and low pressure-loss turbocharger piping to maintain peak power across a broad rpm range. VTEC variable valve timing on the exhaust side helps improve efficiency and optimize valve overlap. Acura surprisingly kept performance figures a secret for now, which could imply it’ll deliver increase horsepower and torque over the Integra, which currently sits at 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque.
Power is delivered to the wheels through a sport-tuned continuously variable transmission (CVT) equipped with paddle shifters. The transmission is programmed for early “downshifts” during braking and features Step Shift programming that simulates gear changes under hard acceleration for a more engaging driving experience. There is no word on a manual transmission yet, but Integra A-Spec can be had with a six-speed manual, which means it’s not necessarily off the table.
All trim levels can be equipped with Acura’s advanced all-wheel drive system, which can direct up to 50% of engine torque to the rear wheels for improved handling and all-weather capability. The ADX comes standard with an Integrated Dynamics System offering four distinct driving modes: Snow, Comfort, Normal, and Sport. These modes adjust throttle response, transmission mapping, steering feel, and other parameters.
“The all-new Acura ADX is an exciting new gateway model for the Acura brand expanding our performance SUV lineup to four exceptional models in the most popular segments,” said Mike Langel, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales.
Acura claims that it has focused on refinement by incorporating acoustical spray foam insulation, sound-absorbing fender liners, wheel resonators, and Active Noise Control to minimize cabin noise. The chassis features a lightweight aluminum front subframe and a fully independent sport-tuned suspension, along with dual-pinion assist electronic power steering for enhanced driving dynamics.
Premium Features Come Standard; A-Spec Is Over The Top
The ADX comes well-equipped even in its base form, featuring a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a wireless charging pad. The standard model also includes dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, and a power tailgate with Walk Away Close functionality.
The sporty A-Spec trim adds visual enhancements including LED fog lamps, gloss black lower exterior trim, Gun Metallic skid garnishes, and larger 19-inch wheels. Inside, A-Spec models receive Ultrasuede seat trim, a panoramic moonroof, ventilated front seats, and a flat-bottom steering wheel with perforated leather. Additional A-Spec features include ambient LED lighting, stainless steel sport pedals, and red contrast stitching.
At the top of the range, the A-Spec with Advance Package adds luxury appointments such as a 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, Google built-in services, a heated steering wheel, and a surround-view camera system. This trim level also gains a fifth “Individual” driving mode, allowing drivers to customize their vehicle settings.
The ADX’s interior provides class-competitive space, with 37.7 inches of rear seat legroom and up to 24.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. With the 60/40-split rear seatbacks folded, cargo capacity expands to 55.1 cubic feet. The low lift-over height of just over 27 inches makes loading and unloading easier.
Pricing And Availability
The 2025 Acura ADX will arrive at dealerships in early 2025, and while pricing has yet to be finalized, Acura says it will have a starting price in the mid-$30,000 range. There will be three trim levels at launc: the base ADX, ADX A-Spec, and ADX A-Spec with Advance Package.
There will be a total of six exterior colors to choose from, including an ADX-exclusive Adriatic Sea Blue Metallic. Interior options include Ebony, Red/Ebony, and a new Orchid/Blue color scheme, marking the first time this combination has been offered in an Acura vehicle.
The ADX will be manufactured in North America using domestic and globally sourced parts, continuing Acura’s commitment to North American production for its U.S. market vehicles. The company is targeting a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a 5-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for the new model.
