Bentley has gone back to its roots with the latest addition to the famed Continental family, the GT Supersports. This model promises to be the most driver-focused Bentley Cont to date, and it packs some serious performance guts to deliver on those promises.

From a new engine to massive weight-saving measures, the latest Continental GT Supersports is a true performance machine, bespoke from screw to stitch in typical Bentley fashion. A limited production of only 500 examples will ensure exclusivity among the luxe performance coupes, with the British firm offering a range of customization to help each model stand out, even next to one another.

The Upcoming Bentley Continental GT Supersports Packs A New, Non-Hybrid Engine

The crown jewel at the head of the latest Bentley Continental GT Supersports is the new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which isn’t hybridized like we see in the Speed line. This is to improve the ICE mill’s natural feel and reduce weight via the hybrid system. Pumping out 666 Ps (657 horsepower) and 800 Nm (590 pound-feet) of torque, this new engine delivers pure, engaging power that hits all the right notes, both in terms of sound and feedback feel.

Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via a ZF eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which affords the luxe coupe an engaging, wild side that may come as an exhilarating surprise, even to those familiar with high-performance Bentleys of old. This also marks the first Continental GT to boast a RWD layout, besides the Continental GT race cars; rear-wheel steering is also retained, with new calibrations across the steering, stability, suspension, traction management, and ESC systems. The eight-speed ZF transmission is used across Bentley’s range, though the Cont GT Supersports’ unit is tuned to deliver more responsive shifts thanks to uprated clutches and a new shifting strategy. Bentley predicts these upgrades will afford the coupe a 3.7-second 0-60 MPH sprint — a few tics under the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing’s sprint — and a top speed of 192 MPH.

Additional performance specs include an eLSD assisted by torque vectoring by brake, aluminum double-wishbone front suspension, a multilink rear axle, 440 mm carbon-silicon-carbide front brake discs (the largest in the world, according to Bentley), and 410 mm rear discs clamped by 10-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear. Also present is a full-length aluminum Akrapovic exhaust system and 22-inch forged and machined aluminum alloy wheels developed in conjunction with Manthey Racing, shod in either Pirelli P-Zero wheels or Trofeo RS rubbers, the latter reported to provide more precise cornering.

Carbon Fiber Application And Weight Savings Abound

Multiple aspects of the latest Cont GT Supersports use carbon fiber to reduce weight and increase aerodynamics, including the roof, a new lower front bumper with integrated front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser, rear wing, mirrors, several interior elements, and engine cover. The exterior elements afford this coupe an aggressive expression while generating more than 300 kg (~661 pounds) more downforce than the GT Speed. Bentley says the exterior is the most purposeful to hit the Cont GT yet, and from the looks of the coupe, they’re probably right. The cut-weight protocol continues inside, with a rear seat delete, along with rear-seat amenities, lightweight front sport seats, and, as mentioned, various carbon-fiber cabin elements.

Bentley says the most significant weight saving comes courtesy of the ICE-only powertrain and the RWD layout, which is lighter than a hybrid AWD. Certain driver assistance features that aren’t necessary for a driver-focused GT are also axed, which shaves off a few more pounds. All told, the new Cont GT Supersports is a half-ton lighter than the previous iteration, weighing in at under 2,000 kg (4,409 pounds). Orders for this bespoke super coupe open in March 2026, with production kicking off in Q4 2026.
