Tesla has released the latest version of its Full Self Driving (FSD) feature to its early access testers, and it has some interesting upgrades that fans are excited about. Among the inclusions in FSD V13.2 is a revamped Speed Profile called ‘Hurry Mode’. While a recent update made changes to Speed Profiles in order for use on more roads, some folks still felt like Hurry Mode, which replaced Assertive Mode, was still a little too slow when they really needed to get somewhere. Now, videos from early access testers show a Hurry Mode that actually lives up to its name, and should appease impatient drivers when it makes its way to more owners in the near future.
Videos Show Hurry Mode In Action
The Tesla-centric Whole Mars Catalog account on X.com posted a video this week of a ride through the city using FSD 13.2’s Hurry Mode. While the video is sped up for those of us with short attention spans, it shows how aggressive the mode can be. Instead of sticking behind a slower driver in the left lane of the highway, it will move to the right to get around them. It takes advantage of open lanes to zip around traffic in the city, and does so without hesitation. As Whole Mars Catalog posted, “You guys are going to love it. It doesn’t waste any time.”
Commenters replying to the video showed enthusiasm at a version of FSD that actually drives the way they would.
Another account, Dirty Tesla, posted its own video of Hurry Mode in action:
Dirty Tesla noted that Hurry Mode is happy to spend time at its maximum speed of 85 miles per hour, and the human behind the wheel lowered the maximum speed multiple times, once for a police car. In another post, Dirty Tesla states that Hurry Mode “was even *too* fast for me a few times.”
FSD Is More Hands-Off Than Ever
FSD V13 is only available to Teslas equipped with the company’s AI4 hardware, and is currently unavailable in the Cybertruck, as Not A Tesla App points out. In addition to the improved hurry mode, V13 also includes the ability to be initiated while parked. It can shift between Park, Drive, and Reverse on its own, and it can even park itself if it finds an available parking spot near the destination.
FSD V13 is still only available to members of its invite-only Early Access Program. Once Tesla is assured the new features are safe to release to the wider audience, FSD V13 will start making its way to more customers in the coming weeks through over-the-air updates.
