The TransAmerica Trail isn’t a single route. It’s more like a suggestion of different ways to bisect the nation, and to do so, as much as possible, using dirt roads. Lots of different spurs spin farther north or south, and several states, especially in the western U.S., have multiple veins that thread into loops, where you can connect different portions of the TransAmerica circuit.
