The Super Bowl routinely ranks among the most-watched television shows each year in the United States. With so many eyes on the same game, it’s also a huge event in advertising. Companies spend millions of dollars producing unique commercials and purchasing time to air them.

The 2025 Super Bowl is a weak year for automotive ads. Ram and Jeep are the only vehicle brands running commercials during this year’s game, according to Ad Age. Artificial intelligence is a big theme for the spots, with Google, Meta, GoDaddy, Salesforce, and ChatGPT maker OpenAI.

Goldilocks Finds The Ram That’s Just Right

Ram’s Super Bowl ad is a spin on the classic fairytale Goldilocks and the Three Bears. It stars actor Glen Powell in a terrible wig, testing three of the brand’s pickups. David Leitch from Deadpool 2 and The Fall Guy directed the commercial.

The Ram 2500 Rebel is the first truck in the spotlight. Powell uses the rugged pickup to chase down a dragon, punch the monster, and put it into a giant smoker.

Next, he takes the Ramcharger into the wilderness to let the extended-range electric pickup demonstrate its off-road capability. Powell plugs in a pair of chainsaws and uses them to create a sculpture of himself holding an eagle.

Finally, he saddles up with the high-performance Ram 1500 RHO. Powell uses the truck to avoid flaming rocks from an erupting volcano and then jumps over the obstacle.

The spot ends with one last joke. Powell and two kids (played by his real-life niece and nephew) are in the RHO when the two other trucks pull up with angry bears onboard. The camera cuts, and an angry bear cub suddenly appears in the RHO’s backseat.

Powell is currently a spokesperson for Ram. He starred in an ad for the truckmaker in 2024. Plus, he was the lead in Twisters, where he drove a heavily modified Ram 3500 to chase tornadoes.

“Being part of this Super Bowl spot feels like a natural continuation of my connection to a brand that has already brought me so much joy behind the wheel,” Powell said.

A sixty-second version of the commercial will air during the Super Bowl. Ram will also sell merchandise based on the commercial. Customers can get t-shirts, hoodies, blankets, a stuffed dragon, and plush bears. There’s even dragon-wing hot sauce.

TopSpeed’s Take

Ram has a fun Super Bowl ad this year. It shows off some of the truck brand’s most exciting products with a popular actor and a fanciful setting. The spot might be the first chance for some viewers to see the Ramcharger and 1500 RHO and get them interested in these fresh pickups.
