Honda’s ‘0 Series’ SUV prototype, said to showcase a brand-new EV architecture when the production model arrives in North America in 2026, has had its first public rollout at the Red Bull Showrun x Powered by Honda event in Tokyo, driven by reigning Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen.

The 0 SUV was first unveiled alongside a sister, 0 Sedan at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and is expected to built out of Honda’s ‘EV Hub’ facility in Ohio. Unlike the ‘Space Hub Concept revealed at CES, the 0 SUV boasted a vibrant black and purple camouflage look, said to be “a visual representation” of the company’s new ‘Thin, Light and Wise’ design approach to all-electric vehicles.

‘Thin, Light And Wise’ Design Concept Showcases “Ever-Advancing” Cabin

Among the most notable elements of the 0 SUV design, said to arrive in North America in the first half of 2026 ahead of a global rollout the following year, is the distinctively sleek front end, a juxtaposition to the bulky, square rear end. This ‘Thin, Light and Wise’ approach is said to “yield a spacious cabin.” Indeed, such is the priority, the EV architecture on which the 0 Series will be built has been engineered to make interior cabin design more flexible – an “ever-advancing” space for occupants – than any Honda before it, be it a sedan, hatchback or light truck, and promises unprecedented visibility from the drivers’ seat.

All-Electric Powertrain Could Potentially Produce 480 Horsepower

The 0 Series will showcase, according to Honda, a “wide variety of next-generation technologies” in keeping with the ‘Thin, Light and Wise’ design philosophy, though the brand specifies only buzz terms like “ultra-personal optimization” and an improved “digital user experience.” No details have been provided regarding powertrains or an estimated all-electric range for either the 0 SUV or the 0 sedan, though a range of rear and all-wheel-drive powertrains are said to be in development, with power potentially ranging from 241-horsepower to 480-horsepower.

The ‘0 Series’ SUV was just one prototype to make its debut during the Red Bull Showrun, an event that celebrates the now six-year relationship between the Japanese brand and the Red Bull Formula 1 team that has yielded 63 Grand Prix wins, two F1 Constructors’ Championships, and four Drivers’ Championships for Max Verstappen. Alongside the 0 SUV, a pre-production model of the returning Honda Prelude was also on display, giving fans their first glimpse at the sedan’s brand-new cabin design.
