Let’s face it: no one does cruiser bikes like Harley-Davidson. They are behemoths, armed with humongous V-twins with scary levels of torque. But if you look at them as a whole package, you will find misses here and there. Overall tank range is one of these things, and no Harley cruiser claims more than 250 miles of total range. So, if range is purely what you need from your cruiser, there is a surprisingly capable Chinese bike you need to check out.

The Macbor Rockster Claims A Maximum Range Of Almost 400 Miles In A Single Tank

The cruiser in context is the Rockster 125 from Macbor, a Spanish brand that sells Chinese-made bikes. It is a puny cruiser motorcycle, armed with an air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 9.5 horsepower and 6.65 pound-feet. That low output enables a claimed efficiency figure of over 110 miles per gallon.

Couple that to the 3.56 gallon tank, and you’re looking at a single tank range of ~398 miles. This means you can take a California to Las Vegas road trip in one tank. Theoretically, of course, since Macbor doesn’t specify what speeds you need to sustain to achieve this MPG figure. Oh, and we know the Rockster will barely reach freeway speeds, unlike a Harley-Davidson. But it’s still an incredible fuel tank range.

A Harley-Davidson-Inspired Design Makes The Macbor Rockster Look Quite American

Although made in China, the Macbor looks very American from afar. That’s because of its simple, stripped-back, and retro appearance, which clearly mimics old Harley-Davidson cruisers. The round headlight, curvy fenders, a peanut-shaped tank, and spoke wheels are all fitting proofs of this.

Upping the ante further is a raked-out front suspension with fork gaiters, which reminds us of the Street Bob. The single-piece saddle and front-set floorboards (yes, floorboards!) paint a similar picture. More mechanical details are listed below:

  • Chassis: Steel tubular
  • Front suspension: Telescopic forks
  • Rear suspension: Dual shock absorbers
  • Wheels: 18/15-inch spoke wheels
  • Brakes: 267 mm front/240 mm rear disc
  • Weight: 286 pounds

The Macbor Rockster 125 Costs Under $3,000 In Europe

Whether the Rockster impresses you or not, no one can deny it is super cheap. The Spanish brand has priced the cruiser at just $2,850 (converted from Euros), which makes it even cheaper than all Honda minimoto bikes. Now, we know many Harley fans will hurl abuse at us in the comments, but we think this is an excellent alternative to the minimoto bikes sold in the US. Nevertheless, the chances of seeing this here are as slim as its 100-section front wheel.
