In just the first quarter of 2025, Nissan has already had an eventful year. The company nearly merged with Honda, and the automaker’s CEO stepped down after the tie-up negotiations fell apart. Since then, the company has outlined a plan to introduce ten new models over the next two years.

The company has just announced its first-quarter sales in the United States. Business is booming, with deliveries increasing by 5.7 percent over Q1 in 2024. The Infiniti brand struggled during this period, though.

Let’s Look At The Numbers

Nissan had several reasons to celebrate the Q1 2025 financial results. For example, Versa sedan deliveries jumped 156 percent year-over-year. In addition, the numbers for the Kicks were up 84.8 percent, and the Murano’s figures grew 84.1 percent.

The Rogue was the company’s best-selling vehicle by volume, with a total of 62,102 deliveries. The figure was down 31.6 percent from 62,102 in Q1 2024.

Infiniti didn’t do as well as Nissan in Q1. Beyond the 5.3-percent drop in deliveries overall, the QX80 was the only one of its products to post increased deliveries over Q1 2024. The division moved 4,064 of them, which was a 64.3-percent gain over moving 2,473 in the same period last year.

Nissan’s Future

The latest reports suggest that Nissan’s partner Renault has a deal that could be instrumental in turning around the Japanese automaker’s business. A multipart deal gives Nissan some much-needed money to keep things going. Part of the agreement means the automaker doesn’t have to pay two billion euros as part of a joint Nissan-Renault venture in India.

The company also recently announced a slew of upcoming products as a way to inject fresh blood into the lineup. The offerings reportedly include the following models:

  • New Leaf
  • Rogue PHEV
  • Next-Gen Rogue
  • Next-Gen Sentra
  • New Adventure-Focused EV SUV For Late Fiscal Year 2027
  • Refreshed Pathfinder
  • Refreshed Infiniti QX60
  • Infiniti QX80 With Sport Package
  • Infiniti QX65
  • Infiniti Luxury EV SUV

TopSpeed’s Take

Don’t think Nissan is dead, yet. The company is struggling, but is still finding plenty of customers in the United States. The automaker now needs to implement its strategy of continuing to improve in the future. The wide array of fresh products on the way is sure to get some curious customers.
