Just a month ago, one of Ken Block’s most iconic rides, his Focus RS from Gymkhana 9, was listed for sale. Soon, Barrett-Jackson will auction off another iconic Ken Block steed: Hoonigan’s heavily modified 1977

, better known as the “Hoonitruck.” If you’d like a shot at owning it, though, you’ll have to win the auction to buy it, and this truck certainly won’t be going for F-150 money.

Ken’s Hoonitruck Was An Internet Sensation

The Hoonitruck was initially shown at SEMA in 2018, a fitting place for such a heavily modified vehicle. The build was done in collaboration with Detroit Speed, built around a hand-shaped aluminum body with a tube-frame chassis underneath. It was also so wide it couldn’t be towed- at 79 inches an 80-inch trailer simply wouldn’t accommodate the truck, so the team built the truck to be disassembled to more easily be transported to filming locations.

Speaking of, the Hoonnitruck has a storied history on-screen. Hoonigan built the truck for Gymkhana TEN, which featured the ’77 Ford blitzing down Route 66 against an Americana backdrop- think old gas stations, one-street towns, diners, and lots of donuts. The truck also starred in Climbkhana TWO, in which Ken used the truck to slide up China’s Tianmen Mountain. It’s classic Ken Block, with outrageous drone shots accompanied by a gratuitous helping of millimeter-close slides halfway up the side of a mountain.

Rowdy Inside And Out

Under the hood, the Hoonitruck made use of a highly modified 3.5-liter Ford EcoBoost engine. Two turbos boosted output to a laughable 914 horsepower and 702 pound-feet of torque. The six-cylinder engine drove all four wheels via a Sadev six-speed gearbox (complete with a massive hydraulic handbrake). The suspension is entirely bespoke, with development and tuning handled by personnel at Hoonigan and Detroit Speed. A few years down the line, this truck now sports Ken’s signature on the transmission tunnel.

TopSpeed’s Take

Barrett-Jackson will host the car for auction later this month at its Scottsdale, Arizona event. The event is scheduled for January 18-26. Last time around, the Honnitruck sold for more than $1 million in 2021, a few years before Block’s horrible 2023 snowmobile accident that claimed his life. The world’s a little colder without Ken in it, but hopefully, the Hoonitruck will get some use yet.
