Devin Booker is the starting shooting guard for the Phoenix Suns. He’s also a classic car nut with a penchant for old Chevy Blazers. This elite NBA player and gold-medal-winning Olympian has three of them, all from 1972. Booker is signed with Nike, and together they’ve collaborated with Chevrolet on some new footwear inspired by his three SUVs.
Bookers three Blazers are each painted a different color – gold, green, and blue. Their paint jobs serve as the basis for new colors on his signature Book 1 shoe and Nike’s Blazer Low footwear. The new kicks are also accompanied by new Nike x Chevrolet T-shirts that show the Phoenix Mountains in the background and one of Booker’s personal Blazers in the foreground. Booker is also celebrating the launch of his first Nike signature apparel collection, though that has no connection to Chevrolet or his beloved Blazers.
Your Next Pair Of Kicks
This isn’t the first time that Booker’s Blazers have influenced Nike’s shoes. The Book 1 is Devin Booker’s signature shoe. Nike claims that when it was first designing the shoe, Booker served up one his 1972 Chevy Blazer as inspiration. Nicknamed “Uncle Larry,” the blue K5 Blazer has been slammed and features an LS engine swap and a removable hard top.
As for this new shoe collab with Chevrolet, the first product is a version of the Book 1 called the Book 1 x Chevrolet “Dark Gold Leaf.” The particular Blazer that inspired this shoe appears to be a mostly stock example.
The other two shoes are the Blazer Low x Chevrolet “Team Dark Green” and Blazer Low x Chevrolet “Surf Blue.” The Blazer Low is a shoe made more for cruising around than playing hoops, but it’s vintage Nike with a big swoosh on the side. The “Team Dark Green” shoe’s corresponding Blazer also appears stock, while the “Surf Blue” shoe was inspired by the aforementioned “Uncle Larry”, which is anything but.
All of these Chevy-themed shoes have the Chevrolet logo and vintage “America’s Heartbeat” insignia on the tongue, as well as a Chevrolet bow-tie logo on the insole. As mentioned, they can be bought with a new set of graphic T-shirts that feature Booker’s Blazers parked in front of the Phoenix Mountains.
While we don’t have pricing yet for these products, the Book 1 x Chevrolet “Dark Gold Leaf,” Nike Blazer Low x Chevrolet “Team Dark Green,” and Nike x Chevrolet graphic T-shirts will be available April 22 on Nike’s SNKRS app, while the Nike Blazer Low x Chevrolet “Surf Blue” will hit Nike retailers on April 22.
How’s Devin Booker Doing?
There’s no arguing Devin Booker is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA. The guy had a 70-point game at the age of 20 and has averaged nearly 25 points per game during his 10-year career. Before the 2024-2025 season started, many expected the Phoenix Suns to go far with its roster of Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
The NBA season just ended this past weekend and the Suns missed the playoffs with a 36-46 record. Fittingly, they lost their last game to the Sacramento Kings, another sub-.500 team, though Booker didn’t play. Frankly, the Sun’s poor performance isn’t the fault of Booker, who has been one of the few reliable threats on the team.
So Booker’s new line of shoes and apparel from Nike has come at a good time. The hooper’s off-season started early, and he doesn’t know who his teammates will be when it ends. Enjoy your Blazers in the meantime, Book.
