Polestar, the Swedish offshoot of Volvo owned by Chinese Geely, has begun production of its third vehicle,
The brand’s second all-electric vehicle after the Polestar 2 sedan, the 3 is the Polestar’s flagship SUV. But, despite having roots in both Sweden and China, the Polestar 3 will be built for North America at Volvo’s Charleston, South Carolina plant, alongside its close cousin,
. In addition to its first trip down the factory line, The Polestar has also been granted official range ratings from the EPA.
The Polestar 3 Offers Up To 350 Miles Of Range
The Polestar 3 uses a large, 111-kilowatt-hour battery — only this “Long Range” version is available at launch — but range depends on the vehicle’s configuration. That 350-mile figure is reserved for the Long Range Single Motor. That single electric motor zaps the rear wheels with 299 horsepower and 361 pound-feet of torque, good for a 0-60 time of 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 112 miles per hour.

The Long Range Dual Motor gets all-wheel drive, 489 horses and 620 pound-feet of torque. 0-60 happens in 4.8 seconds, with a top speed of 130 mph. Unsurprisingly, the EPA range is affected by the extra output, with a still-respectful rating of 315 miles on a charge. Ticking the box for the optional Performance Pack takes power up to 517 horses and 671 pound-feet, while dropping the 0-60 sprint to 4.5 seconds, but the range sinks to (a still not terrible) 279 miles.
Regardless of trim, the Polestar 3 Long Range enjoys a peak charging rate of 250 kW at a capable DC charger, which can recharge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 30 minutes.

Further Personalization For The Polestar 3
The 2025 Polestar 3 is available in six exterior colors, five of which are basically on the grayscale ranging from white to black. Magnesium (light gray) is standard, while Snow (white), Thunder (dark gray), Jupiter (gold-gray), Midnight (dark blue), and Space (black) are an extra $1,300. The standard interior upholstery is a Charcoal WeaveTech fabric, but a MicroTech leather alternative or wool is available in the same color. You can also upgrade to Nappa leather in Charcoal, Zinc, or Jupiter. There are five different wheel designs ranging from 20 to 22 inches, two of which are limited to the Pro Pack, and one to the Performance Pack.
The Pro Pack ($2,100) adds 21-inch Pro wheels — or the Sport wheel design for a $1,100 upcharge — along with Swedish Gold exterior and interior accents. The $5,500 Plus Pack adds Bowers & Wilkins audio with headrest speakers and active road noise cancellation. The Performance Pack gives you that software-unlocked performance upgrade, 22-inch Performance forged alloy wheels, Pirelli P Zero tires, Swedish gold accents, including on the seat belts and Brembo brake calipers, and Polestar Engineered chassis tuning with three suspension settings.
