Range Rover, ahead of its eventual electrification, has been dropping a lot of limited-edition runs of its wares. Just a few weeks back, the carmaker debuted a collection of clothing and other knick-knacks at its luxury outpost at Whistler, B.C., Range Rover House. Now they’re on to Park City, where Range Rover House Park City provides the launching point of the Range Rover Sport SV Park City Edition, which is barely an “edition,” since there will be just three of these rare, $239,000 Range Rover Sport SVs for sale. If, that is, you were already on the list. We fear that if we are bringing you this news, it’s surely too late to nab yours. However, given the pace of RR’s drops, you’ll probably have another chance. Meanwhile, what’s this one about?

Park City, But Really, Dear Valley

The Range Rover Sport SV Park City Edition should really be called the Deer Valley Edition, since this is the third year in a row the British SUV maker has brought out a newly liveried beast to the upscale resort. (Park City, if you don’t know, is more mass-market. Your luxury rig might have to rub shoulders with…Toyotas!). Speaking of being charitable, each purchase of an SV Park City Edition adds a payment to a local Park City organization called SOS Outreach, which helps kids and teens get outdoors and learn about the benefits of recreation.

It’s hard to miss the rather amazing, 23‑inch Satin Carbon Fiber wheels over SV Blue Nebula Carbon Ceramic Brake Calipers.

We don’t think that means those kids are joining invited guests who were beckoned by Range Rover to Park City for curated après ski experiences, pampering by a James Beard award-winning chef, or partaking of wellness treats such as oxygen therapy, but we could be wrong.

If You Have to Ask…

Of course, you want to know what you’re getting for 239 large. Well, this year, unlike last, buying your SV doesn’t include the chance to hang out with Lindsey Vonn. Then again, last year Range Rover sold seven Park City Edition SUVs, not merely three, so this one, with SV Bespoke Lyra White Gloss finish and roof, is more exclusive. In addition to the special paint, its badging is accented in unique black chrome. Buyers also get two pairs of Range Rover‑Hinterland co‑branded custom skis, which will be personally fit and tuned to customers, and, naturally, this includes a Range Rover-branded rooftop box. The interior features customized trim, unique leather seating that Range Rover calls Light Cloud and Ebony, as well as SV Satin Twill Carbon Fiber seat backboards. Every time a customer clambers aboard, they’ll see unique treadplates inscribed with “Park City Edition 1 of 3,” along with personalized SV Bespoke cupholders for each owner.

TopSpeed’s Take

Land Rover is in the midst of electrifying, along with partner, Jaguar, which will entirely sunset everything that runs on gasoline. In the meantime, every single one-off Land Rover/Range Rover sells for fat profits is underwriting the production of two new plants in the U.K., one to make the cars and another to make the batteries. Meanwhile, the Range Rover Sport SV Park City Edition is holding up its end of the bargain, and then some. It’s powered by a 626-horsepower, 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 that’ll scoot the SUV to 60 MPH in 3.6 seconds. Which makes whatever the brand does when it runs its cars on batteries instead a pretty tall order. Trust us—whatever they do will be expensive and we think, probably at least as fast. Aspenites, Deer Valley denizens, Jackson Hole second (or fifth) homers will all be very well fettled. We have little doubt.
