The news of Royal Enfield whipping up a 750cc Himalayan has spread like wildfire in 2025. Right from Australia to Europe, the motorcycle has been repeatedly spotted doing rounds in near-production-ready form. Heck, even RE has posted images of it on social media. Now, as we edge closer to the full reveal, Royal Enfield top honchos have finally revealed some interesting details about the new ADV. Here’s all you need to know.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 Will Have A New Engine Based On The Existing 648cc Parallel-Twin

With no official word, we’ve been using the spy shots to understand what’s different in the engine. And honestly, not much looks different from the outside as such. But now, Steve Everitt, Lead Designer at Royal Enfield, has revealed this is largely based on the 648cc parallel-twin engine that exists today. At the same time, both the bore and stroke are larger to result in an extra 100 cubic centimeters of capacity. He also confirmed the one thing we were hoping for: more power.

Speaking to MCN, Steve Everitt said:

It’s a development of the engine in the 650. Extremely similar, but it makes more power. It’s tuned for its job – with a larger bore and stroke.

The Himalayan 750 Will Co-Exist With The Himalayan 450

Other than this, Royal Enfield’s Global Head of Product Strategy and Industrial Design, Mark Wells, gives us more insights. He confirmed that a multi-cylinder Himalayan has been RE’s most requested product, which is why the project is happening. Additionally, the bike is designed to co-exist with the Himalayan 450. The idea is to promise an experience different from what a Himalayan 450 owner wants and vice versa.

That is quite evident from the test mule as well. The middleweight ADV has a 19-inch front wheel with road-biased tires and long-travel suspension visibly meant for soft off-roading. Whereas, the 450 has a 21-inch front wheel and rather sizable suspension travel. So the 750 would be sort of a friendly adventure-tourer rather than a proper off-road ADV. Oh, and this will be the first RE ADV with a 19/17-inch wheel combo.

Mark Wells said:

It is without a shadow of a doubt, our most asked‑for product. Whenever we talk to customers, whenever I do any kind of consumer research, a Himalayan twin is everything.

Royal Enfield Could Debut The Himalayan 750 At The 2025 EICMA

Finally, the top honcho has confirmed the 750cc ADV is well into maturity and close to being production-ready. That means an official announcement is around the corner, and the 2025 EICMA seems like the best place to do that. After all, Royal Enfield has repeatedly used the EICMA stage to reveal its flagship products over the years. Once out, expect it to rival a whole bunch of adventure bikes. Some rivals include:

  • Suzuki V-Strom 650
  • Moto Morini X-Cape 700
  • Kawasaki Versys 650
  • Honda NX500
