There’s no denying Royal Enfield has upped its game tenfold in the last decade. What was once a brand known for its dominance in India currently enjoys segment-leading global sales. A lot of the credit goes to its 650cc range. And if you love the lineup, things are about to get a whole lot better soon. We say so because RE is ready to whip up its first 750cc motorcycle in less than a year.

The Continental GT-R Will Be Royal Enfield’s First 750cc Motorcycle

We’ve been hearing about RE’s upcoming 750cc range for months now. In fact, we’ve also brought you spy shots of the potential 750cc Interceptor right from India. Now, thanks to Autocar India, we know the first 750cc motorcycle by Royal Enfield will be the Continental GT-R.

As you’d expect, details are scarce for now. However, the Indian publication reports the motorcycle has a codename R1E, where ‘R1’ is the common code for the 750cc platform. We also know this will be a full-faired cafe racer to mimic old-school sports bikes–an evolution of the popular Continental GT available today.

As for the engine, you can expect the 750cc mill to be a bored-out version of the 648cc parallel-twin engine. This should help reduce tailpipe emissions and meet upcoming norms. More cubic capacity should also ensure more performance, and 50 horsepower seems easily achievable.

Expected Engine Specs

Engine

750cc, twin-cylinder

Power

~50 HP

Torque

~44 LB-FT

Transmission

Six-speed

The Continental GT-R Will Be Followed By An Extensive 750cc Lineup

Part-sharing is Royal Enfield’s forte. Just look at the 650cc lineup, which comprises six bikes today. So it’s a no-brainer the 750cc mill will follow the same brief. A confirmation of the same comes from the spy shots of the Interceptor 750. To jog your memory, the test mule featured several updates over the current INT, such as:

  • Dual disc brakes
  • TFT instrument cluster
  • New LED lights
  • New alloy wheels

Let’s not forget, RE is also testing a parallel-twin adventure bike with the same engine. It could be the first multi-cylinder Himalayan, sitting above the 452cc thumper from last year. Elsewhere, 750cc versions of the Super Meteor, Shotgun, Classic, and Bear all seem inevitable once the first model debuts.

The RE 750cc Lineup Could Debut By The End Of 2025

Speaking of the debut, RE claims the first Continental GT-R will hit dealerships by late 2025 or early 2026. We expect a production version or concept model to be shown at the EICMA in November–-a place where Royal Enfield has repeatedly shown its upcoming flagship products over the years. We just hope the Indian giant prioritizes America this time, unlike leaving it as the last market to receive its new models. In fact, we still haven’t gotten the Classic 650, which is available everywhere else in the world.
