Last year, Royal Enfield impressed us all with its first electric motorcycle. While production hasn’t started, the bikemaker has already presented another EV to keep the hype up. It is based on the same platform but serves as a more versatile machine, going in the scrambler direction. As a refresher, the bike had been spied testing in the Himalayas not too long ago. Here’s what we know about the Flying Flea S6.
The Flying Flea S6 Has A Neo-Retro Aesthetic
In a sea of futuristic EVs, Royal Enfield’s Flying Flea is sticking to its roots. So the S6 has a minimalistic neo-retro design. Round lights, a tall stature, and simple body panels are all present here, complete with juicy attention to detail. The latter includes a finned magnesium battery case, a golden finish on the chain and forks, and carbon fiber texture on the panels. These bits can change on the production model, though.
With Rugged Underpinnings To Match The Scrambler Vibe
In addition to these, there’s no shortage of rugged elements. The cross-spoke wheels are the protagonist here, topped with a motocross-inspired front and rear fenders. Handguards, stanchion covers, and a rally-style flat saddle complete the package. Diving deeper, the wheels measure 19 and 17 inches front and rear, while the suspension–USD forks and monoshock–seems to have adequate travel for mild trails.
There’s An Army Of Technological Features On The Flying Flea S6
Although gas-powered Royal Enfields are quite simple, the Flying Flea range is going in the opposite direction. The S6 proves that by employing an in-house OS and a UI/UX built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon QWM2290 processor. 4G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity are present, which allow easy vehicle management via the TFT instrument cluster. Sweetening the pot is a handful of rider aids. This comprises traction control, cornering ABS, and ride modes with a dedicated off-road setting. You can also switch all of these off for maximum fun.
But The Range And Power Remain Under Wraps
What remains unknown are the power figures. But RE has confirmed this is an entry-level platform rather than a premium one. Thus, we believe it will have simple performance and range, with a top speed of around 65 miles per hour and max range of 65 miles. All that power would reach the wheel via chain-driven transmission.
The Launch Of The Flying Flea S6 Is Still Far
Why are so many details under wraps? Well because the launch is quite far. Royal Enfield claims the aim is to launch this in late 2026, as a part of its 2027 model lineup. And we don’t know whether the American launch will happen soon after. There’s also the question mark about the rising tariffs, which recently led to some sizable price hikes for existing Royal Enfield bikes here.
