Automakers’ annual sales results offer a glimpse into the company’s health. Better year-over-year figures can indicate that business is going well. However, falling sales aren’t necessarily a sign of failure, because deliveries can drop due to the switchover of introducing a new product to replace an old one.

Stellantis North America is the latest automaker to report its 2024 sales. Five of six marques in the United States had lower deliveries last year than in 2023.

As a whole, Stellantis moved 1,303,570 vehicles in the United States in 2024. The figure was 15 percent lower than delivering 1,527,090 models in 2023.

Stellantis 2024 Sales By Brand

Jeep was the automaker’s best-selling marque in the United States in 2024. The brand delivered 587,725 vehicles in the country last year. However, this was down nine percent from moving 642,924 units in 2023.

The Grand Cherokee was Jeep’s bestseller last year. The SUV’s deliveries totaled 216,148 vehicles, down 12 percent from selling 244,594 in 2023.

Ram sales fell 19 percent for a total volume of 439,039 units in 2024. The brand’s pickup lineup moved 373,120 units last year, making it Stellantis’ bestselling single offering. Deliveries were down 19 percent year-over-year.

Dodge also struggled in 2024. The brand’s sales fell 29 percent, and its deliveries totaled 141,730 vehicles. Last year, the Durango moved 59,357 units, down 14 percent. However, it was still the marque’s bestselling product.

It might come as a surprise, but Dodge’s sales numbers indicate sales of a single Dart and one Viper in 2024. Both of those models are long out of production.

Chrysler moved 124,683 vehicles last year, a seven percent decline. The Pacifica was the brand’s bestseller, with 107,356 deliveries, down 11 percent from 2023.

Alfa Romeo’s sales in the United States fell 19 percent to a total of 8,865. The new Tonale was the brand’s bestseller, with 3,383 deliveries.

Finally, Fiat was the only one of the Stellantis brands in the United States to post increased sales in 2024. Don’t get too excited because the total deliveries were just 1,528 units. Still, the marque’s volume was up 154 percent over 2023 when it moved 605 vehicles.

Stellantis’ Future In The United States

Falling sales across nearly all of Stellantis’ brands in the United States is likely at least part of the reason for the company’s rapid reshuffling starting in late 2024. Company CEO Carlos Tavares resigned suddenly in late November. Since then, the automaker re-hired Tim Kuniskis as Ram’s new boss.

Kuniskis said he took the job “…because we’re getting our ass kicked. You’ve seen all the numbers, and we’re getting our ass kicked.”

The company also delayed the launch of the Ram 1500 REV and 1500 Ramcharger electrified pickups. It decided to improve product quality before launching the models.

TopSpeed’s Take

These numbers tell part of the story about Stellantis’s current situation in the United States. The company is trying to turn things around after such a rough year. Let’s see if Dodge and Ram’s new offerings can help the automaker’s sales in 2025.
