Subaru seems to be unstoppable these days. Aside from getting reliability awards, hitting sales goals, and being a carmaker that defines a way of life, it’s also contining its legacy of safety excellence, securing three 2025 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK awards, including the prestigious TOP SAFETY PICK+ for the all-electric Solterra. As the IIHS tightens its crash-testing standards, Subaru’s commitment to passenger safety remains unwavering.
Subaru Earns More Safety Awards
The 2025 Subaru Solterra earned the highest honor, achieving a TOP SAFETY PICK+ for the third consecutive year. Meanwhile, the 2025 Subaru Ascent and 2025 Subaru Forester—now joined by the all-new Forester Hybrid—secured IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK awards. Notably, the Forester extends its record, now holding an impressive 19-year streak as an IIHS award winner.
Subaru of America President Jeff Walters highlighted the brand’s dedication to meeting the IIHS’ increasingly stringent standards, emphasizing its focus on protecting both drivers and passengers. A key aspect of the 2025 evaluation was the revised moderate overlap front test, which now includes a rear-seat dummy to assess back-seat safety.
Subaru Is More Than Just Safe
Beyond safety, Subaru’s 2025 lineup offers a compelling mix of capability and value. The Solterra, priced from $38,495, delivers best-in-class ground clearance for small electric SUVs, ensuring off-road capability without breaking the bank. The three-row Ascent, starting at $38,910, provides flexible seating for up to eight passengers alongside an extensive suite of driver assistance features. The redesigned Forester and Forester Hybrid start at $29,995 and $34,995, respectively, boasting a quieter cabin, fresh styling, and Subaru’s trusted Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
With these latest awards, Subaru reinforces its reputation as an industry leader in safety, racking up 74 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ designations since 2013. Whether gas-powered or electric, Subaru’s 2025 models continue to deliver confidence on the road.
