The Icon’s Collection by Harley-Davidson has given us some beautiful American-made machines in yesteryears. Given its popularity, the trend continues this year, too. As reported earlier, Harley-Davidson’s weapon of choice for 2025 is the Gray Ghost. It takes inspiration from the OG Fat Boy from the 1990s to woo cruiser enthusiasts. Let’s jump in.

The Harley-Davidson Gray Ghost Has A Special Shiny Design

As its name suggests, ‘gray’ is the theme of the new cruiser. A glossy silver finish is present from head to toe, just like the OG ‘Grey’ Ghost from the 1990s. The shiny finish complements the silver slot wheels and other chrome touches (headlight nacelle, exhaust pipes, engine cases) well. Adding to the classic charm is a circular air filter cover, identical to the OG it’s based on. All this while, the lack of punchy yellow inserts is a big miss (they were a characteristic element on the first-gen Fat Boy).

Harley-Davidson Gray Ghost Design Elements

  • Circular air filter cover
  • Polished mirror finish
  • 3D tank emblems
  • Yellow accents on the engine head

Harley’s Milwaukee-Eight 117 Engine Powers The New Gray Ghost

Under the skin, the Gray Ghost is exactly like the 2025 Fat Boy unveiled a few months ago. So it employs the new Milwaukee-Eight 117 Custom engine. The output lies at 100 horsepower–three down on the Fat Boy–while the torque remains unchanged at 122 pound-feet. A six-speed transmission puts that power to the road via the chunky 240-section rear tire. Since that is a serious thump, a set of electronic aids helps you stay right side up. These comprise:

  • Traction control
  • Ride modes
  • Cornering ABS
  • Drag-Torque Slip Control
  • Anti-lock brakes

Like the mill, the chassis components all come from the Fat Boy. There’s a double-cradle steel chassis, suspended on beefy 49 mm telescopic forks (with iconic beer can covers) and a hidden monoshock. Only the latter is adjustable (that too, just preload). Each end features 18-inch slot wheels with single disc brakes to help shed speed. However, considering the near-700-pound heft, we’d really like dual front discs instead.

2025 Harley-Davidson Gray Ghost: Pricing And Availability

In typical Icon’s Collection fashion, the Gray Ghost isn’t easy on the pocket. It sells for $25,399, which is considerably more than the base MSRP of the Fat Boy. That positions the Ghost at the premium side of the cruiser segment. However, considering the limited production, the money seems well-justified. This will probably end up becoming a collectible, so you might even make a small profit in the future. Consider that, too!
