“Your Inner Kid’s Dream Bike” is what Ultraviolette tags its wild new dual-sport, the Shockwave. Kudos to the name choice—it is uber-cool. This motorcycle is essentially the modern and electrified reincarnation of the two-stroke madness that once ruled the motorcycling world. Replicating the two-stroke aura is the Shockwave’s insanely lightweight packaging at under 300 pounds coupled to a torque figure of well over 300 pound-feet at the rear wheel!
The UV Shockwave Has 372.5 LB-FT And Weighs Just 264.5 Pounds
These unreal numbers defined the madness of the Ultraviolette Shockwave. It is powered by a chassis-mounted interior permanent magnet synchronous motor coupled to a 4 kWh battery pack. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a chain drive, and the Shockwave can do 0-37 mph (0-60 kph) in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 75 mph (120 kph).
The battery pack can give it a riding range of 102.5 miles (165 km), which is commendable for such a compact dual-sport motorcycle. Talking of commendable things, the eye-popping figure here is its curb weight at just 264.5 pounds. This favors its hooliganistic character due to minimal bodywork and a smaller battery and motor combination.
The Off-Road-Ready Ultraviolette Shockwave Can Be A Capable Commuter
Comes With A Dual Seat Option
While it’s intended for unhinged fun, Ultraviolette has also expanded the Shockwave’s expertise to make it a capable urban runabout. It’s lightweight and slim, which promises to offer nimble and flickable riding dynamics. Its 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel-size combo is designed to ace off-roading situations.
Similarly, its long-travel suspension that consists of a 37 mm cartridge from up front with 7.87 inches of travel and a rear monoshock with 7.08 inches of travel also favors off-roading. However, features like a low seat height, quick charging from 20-80 percent in just 30 minutes, powerful dual projector LED headlamps, and an optional dual-seat option are indications that it is also made for daily hustle.
Not So Minimal On Technology Ups The Shockwave’s Character
Despite its bare-bones nature, the Ultraviolette Shockwave has top-spec technology features. It has a portrait-styled 5-inch TFT display, which, in the press image, is showcased in a badass-looking red theme that looks very similar to the night mode on the Apple Watch Ultra. The display also shows us “Ballistic,” which indicates that the Shockwave will have a similar set of ride modes as the F77—Glide, Combat, and Ballistic. We can also expect a new off-road-focused mode as well. Other notable technology features include:
- 4 traction control modes
- Switchable Dual-Channel ABS
- 6 levels of Dynamic, regenerative braking
Ultraviolette Shockwave Dual-Sport: Pricing And Availability
The Shockwave Is Priced At An Eye-Wateringly Low Price
The Shockwave is set to commence sales in India in early 2026. It will be available in two vibrant color options—Cosmic Black and Frost White. Pre-orders are open currently, and the Shockwave starts at INR 175,000 (~$2,027). That’s insane value for this 264.5-pound electric dual sport with 372.5 pound-feet of torque. For reference, its closest rival is the $4,195 Zero XB with 275 pound-feet of torque and a curb weight of 139 pounds.
On the other end of the spectrum, we also have the insanely expensive $12,900 Stark Future with 764 pound-feet of torque and a curb weight of 264 pounds. Ultraviolette plans to expand aggressively across the world in the next three years. While Europe is their primary target, we hope they also include America in their expansion list. They also expect to extract a third of their revenue from outside India. So, fingers crossed that Ultraviolette is launching its lineup, including the Shockwave, in America by 2026.
