It is the little things in life that bring you the greatest happiness. This sentence has been aptly articulated in the motorcycling world by RoninSu, a creative custom bike maker from China. He has created a cool-looking chopper, the donor bike of which is a least-expected Honda. Today, the only factory chopper available is also from Honda, with the Fury. Building upon the same sentiment but in a pint-sized package is a 125 cc custom chopper from China that might be low on engine size and performance but high on creativity and on-road appeal.

This Custom Chopper Used To Be A Honda Super Cub

Barely Any “Stock” Components Remain, Though

This swagger of a custom chopper is a meticulous creation that took over six months to complete. RoninSu, in his conversation with the guys at Bike EXIF, states,

In my opinion, chopper building is an art of subtraction, but that doesn’t mean you don’t consider every detail and proportion. Each step of the process requires careful consideration before it can be executed.

Interestingly, this build is elevated in size and effort compared to the stock Honda Cub, and even surpasses rival choppers with engines of up to 500 cc in terms of visual appeal. The main ingredient of this head-turner is its stretched-out hardtail frame, which originated from the stock Honda chassis. RoninSu, in his conversation with Bike EXIF, states that he has done extensive cutting, stretching, and adding metal, so that the custom chassis is barely related to the original. The twin-beam chassis gives this chopper a wheelbase of over 60 inches, and the custom front forks are an impressive 37 inches long. This contributes to its by-the-book chopper stance.

The steep backbone frame neatly runs into the rear triangular frame section. The rear section is adorned with a gorgeous, handmade ducktail-style fender that is accentuated by a cool-looking upswept muffler. Its custom-padded solo seat sits on a handmade fiberglass seat pan. Another retained stock element is the original-pressed steel section present under the Honda Super Cub’s saddle. On this chopper, it receives new covers, which are also painted in a bright burgundy color, matching the rest of the creation. RoninSu has elevated its artistic appeal with a custom hand-painted peanut-shaped fuel tank.

The Powertrain Has Been Swapped For A Semi-Automatic Chinese Mill

Engine Displacement: 125 cc

While not much is mentioned about the powertrain setup, we do know that RoninSu has utilized a home-grown 125 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine from the popular Chinese motorcycle manufacturer, Zongshen. Performance figures are expected to be conservative, but this mill possesses a cool feature, as it is a semi-automatic unit that doesn’t require a clutch lever. Gear shifts are performed via a custom-made hand shifter mounted low on the left side of the bike. The braking setup is also minimal, with only the rear wheels equipped with a drum brake. The front doesn’t get one, similar to a flat tracker racebike. This build truly is a testament to creativity with no limits.
