If you’re an MV Agusta fan, the past few years must’ve felt like a roller coaster. From financial troubles and Chinese partnerships to two massive ownership changes, the brand has seen it all. Now, though, the ownership is back where it belongs, and things are starting to get better. As a result, we’re slowly hearing more about the luxury brand’s future plans, be it regarding production figures or future products. Part of that plan is also expansion in the American market, and this is how MV wants to tackle that.

MV Agusta Plans To Create A Specific American Division To Expand Operations Here

MV Agusta has never shied away from calling America one of its key markets, and its latest plans build on that. Speaking to our buddies at CycleWorld, new CEO Luca Martin has confirmed that MV is creating a special American division to tackle the United States market. This will be made possible by signing a contract with an unnamed “huge” logistics company to ensure proper after-sales services.

An expansion of the dealer network in the US is also on the cards. Backing this up, Luca says MV, under its KTM ownership, did manage to join hands with several leading KTM dealers all over the world. So things were already looking better at the time for the after-sales network and, with the ownership where it belongs, things should get even better.

To jog your memory, spare parts, after-sales, and reliability have been the three biggest woes for the Italian giant for quite some time. There has been good customer interest, much of which has fizzled out due to these things. The F3 R is a prime example of this, as it is one of the well-priced models in the MV lineup (it undercuts the Panigale V2 S). Yet, it remains overlooked.

New Middleweight MV Agustas Are In The Pipeline

Other than the American division, MV Agusta is working on new middleweight motorcycles. The platform would be based on the 950cc, inline-triple engine seen on the Enduro Veloce on sale at the moment. It is good for 124 horsepower and 75 pound-feet, both of which are near class-leading numbers in the segment. Yamaha’s inline-triple manages 117 horsepower in comparison.

This would make the brand more accessible to the masses, even though MV Agusta isn’t having any problems selling its exotic bikes. We say so because all of the 83 examples of the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro are already vouched for. Each example had a sticker price of over $80,000. Anyway, whenever the new platform is here, MV plans to slowly increase its production as well. 6,000 units per year is the long-term target.
