With Ducati’s new V2 platform getting a positive response, it’s only fair more and more middleweights receive the same engine. While that is good news, it also means some previous models will have to get the boot. That’s exactly what appears to have happened with Ducati’s most practical sports bike in 2025. Here’s what you need to know.
The Ducati SuperSport 950 Is No Longer Listed On The Official Website
The sports bike that’s flown off the shelves is the SuperSport 950, as it is no longer present on Ducati’s American website. This doesn’t come as a surprise, however. Why? Because Ducati never really announced a 2025 model of the SuperSport. No, not even new colors or a special edition. In addition, there hadn’t been any major updates to the sports bike in around five years. So the engine was barely hanging on to meet the latest emission norms.
Then, there’s the market scenario. Earlier, the SuperSport enjoyed life as the practical Ducati sports bike, while the Panigale V2 took on as the flagship middleweight. Now, though, the new V2 itself aims to be a practical road-cum-track-ready offering. That nullifies the need for another bike serving the same purpose in the same segment and price range. Speaking of which, the new Panigale V2 starts from $15,995–just $500 more than the 2024 SuperSport–while offering more power, better features, and improved underpinnings.

The SuperSport 950 Features A Desmo-Equipped 937cc L-Twin Engine
Although discontinued, we believe you can find discounted examples of the 2024 SuperSport in your nearest dealers. And if you can get it for cheaper, this can still be a good purchase, considering you get a likable package. The crown jewel here is the desmo-equipped 937cc, L-twin engine. It’s a liquid-cooled unit, which focuses heavily on usable performance. So its 110 horsepower and 69 pound-feet kick in at 9,000 and 6,500 RPM, respectively–both RPMs being considerably lower than the new V2.
The engine sits inside a steel trellis chassis, paired with Ducati’s once-popular single-sided swingarm. Fully adjustable Marzocchi USD forks and Sachs monoshock ensure proper damping, in the meantime. Rounding things off is a set of 17-inch wheels, where the front houses Brembo monobloc calipers and 320 mm discs. A special shoutout also goes to the electronics package. It includes wheelie control, traction control, ride modes, cornering ABS, and a quickshifter, all of which have been standard here for half a decade yet remain right up there with the best in the segment.
