If you love the Yamaha Tenere 700, we’d suggest you get a piece of cloth to wipe your drool before reading ahead. That’s because Yamaha has whipped up a new T7 Yamalube edition, loaded with likable elements from head to toe. There is a bag catch, though, which makes it technically unattainable for most of us.

What Makes The Yamaha T7 Yamalube Edition Special

One look is enough to know this is a special creation. The Tenere 700 boasts a bespoke Yamalube livery inspired by none other than the YZF-R1 from the 2024 Suzuka 8 Hours. Pearlescent black, white, and blue finishes are present throughout, topped with ‘Yamalube’ and ‘GYTR’ logos on the fairings. A color-matched blue rally saddle completes the livery.

Then, there are the performance boosting changes. A blacked-out Akrapovic exhaust with a carbon tip is the crown jewel here, which should reduce some heft and improve the sound. This is topped by a motocross-inspired front fender and GYTR toothed footpegs. Crash protection is better, too, evident from the aluminum skid plate and radiator covers.

Key Changes

  • Bespoke Yamalube livery
  • Rally seat
  • Motocross fender
  • Aluminum skid plate
  • Aluminum radiator cover
  • GYTR pegs
  • Akrapovic exhaust

What Remains Unchanged On The Yamaha T7 Yamalube Edition

Under its skin, Yamaha has left things unchanged. The popular 690cc, CP2 engine continues to power the bike, promising 72 horsepower and 49 pound-feet via a six-speed transmission. Since not a lot, you get no electronic aids here other than switchable ABS.

The mill sits inside a motocross-like double-cradle chassis. KYB forks and monoshock serve as the sidekicks for the chassis, where the front offers 8.3 inches of travel and the rear 7.9 inches. These, plus the brakes (Two 282 mm rotors/245 mm rotors) and wheels (21/18-inch spokes), help the T7 weigh just 452 pounds (wet).

You Can’t Have The Yamaha T7 Yamalube Edition In America

That’s right. Just like other special Teneres, Yamaha has limited the T7 Yamalube edition to the European market. Moreover, the bike isn’t available for purchase. Since this is a tie-up with Yamalube, the motorcycle will go to anyone who purchases the lubricants from the oil brand. Participants will need to upload pictures of the receipts and fill a dedicated form to be eligible. The deadline is June 30, 11:59 PM, and the lucky draw will take place in July. So it all comes down to luck here, rather than money.
