If owning a high-performance Mercedes-AMG vehicle wasn’t exciting enough, the prestigious German automaker is offering an even more rarefied version of its pumped-up GLS utility vehicle. The recently announced 2026 AMG GLS 63 Manufaktur Artic Silver edition ups the proverbial ante in numerous ways. Predictably, production of this vehicle is strictly limited.

Exclusive Exterior Enhancements

This new vehicle benefits from a range of appearance enhancements, but no performance increase appears to be part of the equation. The first thing anyone will likely notice about this SUV is the paint, an exclusive color called Cirrus Silver Mango, one that also seems to have a matte finish.

Aside from that, purchasers of the 2026 AMG GLS 63 Manufaktur Artic Silver edition are treated to a special set of forged AMG multi-spoke wheels. These rollers clock in at a whopping 23 inches and are painted matte black and emblazoned with striking red accents. Similarly, the brake calipers at all four corners are emblazoned with AMG lettering and painted bright red.

These SUVs also gain the AMG Night Package. This option group slathers the special front splitter and air intakes, the exterior mirror housings, sill accents, window surrounds, and rear fascia trim in gloss black. The vehicle also features matte black roof rails and dark chrome exhaust tips.

No Surprise, The Interior’s Been Upgraded, Too

This high-power utility vehicle’s cabin features a unique combination of Nappa leather upholstery rendered in carmine red and black. The seats are also treated to a diamond stitching pattern for some added visual pizzaz in case the color combo wasn’t interesting enough.

Aside from all that, there’s an AMG performance steering wheel, the front handrest is embossed with the AMG crest, and the cabin gains carbon fiber trim with special red accents and Manufaktur Arctic Silver branding rendered in glistening chrome. Deep-pile carpeting and special illuminated door sills are some of the other enhancements.

Huge Performance, Limited Production

This upgraded luxury family hauler should feature a hybrid-enhanced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 under the hood, one that’s handcrafted, no less. Expect this engine to be good for a thundering 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough secret sauce to rocket this massive SUV from a standstill to 60 mph in as little as 4.1 seconds, practically warp drive for a vehicle of this size. Helping deliver that performance is an AMG Speedshift nine-speed automatic transmission.

Naturally, this is not a very economical drivetrain. Expect the Arctic Silver edition to sticker somewhere around 14 miles per gallon in the city and 18 on highway drives. If you can afford an AMG-upgraded GLS, which starts at around $150,000 (this limited-edition model will almost certainly cost a good bit more), you’re probably not too worried about fuel costs.

Production of the 2026 AMG GLS 63 Manufaktur Artic Silver edition is capped at just 450 units. The vehicle will be sold globally, but you can expect this SUV to arrive at dealerships in the U.S. later this year.
