The parallel-twin engines used in Triumph’s modern classic line-up are usually less powerful than Harley’s iconic V-twins. This is mainly due to the latter’s use of big twins, the smallest of which is 1,252 cc, whereas the biggest Triumph’s parallel-twin engine is a 1,200 cc mill. But now, a certain French dealer flips the script and shows us that Triumph’s parallel twins can go way beyond. This custom Triumph Speed Twin 1200 motorcycle breaks out of the “stock” classic roadster tag and goes Hulk mode. Its insane modifications even make it a force to be reckoned with on the racetrack.

The Triumph Speed Twin 1200 Engine Gets Supercharged

Produces Just 13 Horsepower Less Than The Most Powerful Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Today

The most insane modification on this custom Triumph is its supercharger kit. Thanks to TTS Performance, a neat bolt-on forced induction kit has been created for the rather compact parallel twin of the Speed Twin. The kit comes from the same guys who made the monstrous 400-horsepower SuperBusa.

This modification is supported by a slew of other upgrades to help keep the engine from blowing up. The result of all this wizardry is a whopping 140 horsepower at the wheel. For reference, the most powerful Harley-Davidson motorcycle today is the race-derived limited-edition CVO Road Glide RR with 153 horses.

  • Bigger custom radiator and plumbing
  • Performance ignition coil, connections, and iridium spark plugs
  • Engine custom fabricated to mount the bolt-on TTS Performance supercharger kit
  • Custom short straight pipe exhaust

Fusion Of Modern And Classic Parts Take Things To A New Level

Uses Hardware From The Triumph Speed Triple 1050

Ohlins inverted forks and a single-sided swingarm straight from the now-defunct Triumph Speed Triple 1050 elevate its sporty appeal further. The swingarm also means the donor bike’s dual shocks have made way for a fully adjustable monoshock. This modification should bring the naked sports bike’s native track-going abilities to this custom Speed Twin 1200 “classic” roadster. The sprocket setup has also been upgraded with more teeth for added acceleration. Braking duties are taken care of by custom Beringer calipers.

Summary Of All Notable Custom Hardware Parts

    • Single-sided swingarm
    • 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels

This Custom Speed Twin 1200 Looks Like A Proper Hooligan

With Carbon Fiber And Bright Green Accents

Visually, the motorcycle has been stripped down and painted with splashes of neon green to showcase its wild side. The wheels also look to be straight off the Speed Triple 1050. This custom Triumph also seems to flaunt a carbon fiber front fender, whereas the rear is raw and exposed without a fender. Even the tail tidy has been deleted, and an LED strip light has been integrated into the rear section of the subframe for lighting duties. It has a custom cafe-racer-styled solo seat with matching bright green stitching.

A remarkable visual modification is its headlight assembly, which looks to be inspired by the flat headlamp assembly of the KTM 690 Duke. While it is not mentioned, we can see a custom instrument cluster that also seems to be a track-grade component. The fuel tank is also repainted in a shade of satin black, overlaid with custom graphics reminiscent of the Triumph Trident 660 vinyl design.
