With SEMA 2025 right around the corner, we’ve been blessed with information about some pretty interesting builds from brands across the globe. Toyota has already shown us a few of its SEMA 2025 builds, which include a spunky Camry GT-S concept and a restomodded FJ60 Land Cruiser, but they also plan on bringing an EV that serves as a showcase not only of Toyota’s ability to push the boundaries of their cars, but also how modern tech and applications can be difference makers in the building process.

The bZ Time Attack Concept, built on the 2026 Toyota bZ BEV, boasts some quality motorsport upgrades inside and out, which Toyota says is designed to explore the performance potential of Toyota’s BEV technology. Just one look at this sharp machine will have you wanting to rip around a circuit, which is its goal, along with hill climbs.

Toyota’s Hybridized Approach To Fabrication

The bZ Time Attack Concept will debut at SEMA 2025, along with a handful of unique builds designed to showcase the Japanese brand’s commitment to all-around innovation. The bZ concept features genuine motorsport guts provided by Toyota’s Motorsports Technical Center and Add Lab, TRD, and a network of advanced suppliers, including Dark Matter Laser Works. Instead of simply sketching a design and fabricating the necessary elements traditionally, Toyota uses a modern approach that consists of laser scanning, CAD development, and large-scale 3D printing.

Elements like the fender arches were digitally modeled, printed at full scale, then hand-finished to ensure strength and precision. By using this approach, the team fast-tracked the prototyping phase, enabling rapid iterations and smoother testing to find the perfect recipe for the one-off EV. The result is a high-performance precision instrument designed to devour the racetrack. Helping it achieve this goal is a six-inch suspension drop, a six-inch track increase, and a fully-integrated aero package that adds a rear wing, side skirts, a front splitter, and a rear diffuser.

The bZ Time Attack Concept: Under The Skin

While the digitally rendered exterior and eye-catching graphics are a stunning sight to behold, Toyota and the build team behind the concept didn’t stop at aerodynamic bolstering; they threw the whole motorsport book at this thing. First and foremost, the concept is built on the 26MY AWD bZ, though it receives more juice in the form of Toyota R&D-tuned electric motors that deliver over 400 horsepower, managed through bespoke ECU calibration. Features include TEIN coilovers, an Alcon braking system with Hawk pads adapted from Toyota’s 86 Cup and Corolla TC race programs, and a full FIA-spec 4130 chromoly cage.

The interior features OMP HTE-R racing seats with OMP harnesses, while the entire build rides on 19×11-inch BBS Unlimited wheels wrapped in huge 305/30ZR19 XL Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 tires, which Toyota says adds substantial mechanical grip when paired with the AWD platform and the extreme aero upgrades. The bZ Time Attack Concept was built to reflect Toyota’s willingness to experiment with nontraditional fabrication methods by integrating modern building aspects, like CAD modeling and 3D printing, into its approach. The cutting-edge EV will be on display at SEMA 2025 from November 4th to the 7th at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the Toyota booth (Central Hall, Booth 22200).
