Going fast is one of the reasons people buy sports cars, muscle cars, and supercars. But they all have different power levels, and that correlates to the price of the vehicles. The more expensive the car, the more powerful it is. American car manufacturers have been able to provide massive power for way less money compared to European automakers. A prime example is the Ford Mustang.

The seventh-generation Mustang continues this trend, and its most powerful version is the Dark Horse, which makes 500 horsepower—that is, until the supercharged GT500 arrives. But since this is a familiar engine from the previous generation, some aftermarket tuners already have kits ready for this car. The result is a Mustang that is faster than most multi-million dollar hypercars.

The First 8-Second S650 Mustang

This is the first year of the seventh-gen S650 Mustang, and it’s already breaking records. Ford has highly improved the 5.0-liter Coyote V8, and it now makes 480 horsepower in the standard car and 500 horsepower in the Dark Horse. But Ford also knows people love to tune these cars to make big power, so it already has forged pistons and connecting rods. SoEVEO performance has gone ahead and made the fastest S650 Mustang in the quarter mile.

This blue beast has received Whipple’s latest 3.0-liter GEN 6 supercharger upgrade along with a host of other support modifications like a Kong Performance CNC Port, IC Chiller Interchiller System, bigger throttle body, upgraded fuel pumps, and more. This car now makes 1,045 WHP on race fuel, which currently makes it the most powerful S650 Mustang on the planet. It also has some suspension upgrades to help put the power down.

It was taken to the drag to see how fast it would go, and it smashed the quarter mile in a record time. The regular Mustang can hit 60 mph in 3.7s seconds and reach the quarter mile in 12 seconds at best. But this EVO Mustang hit 60 mph in under 2 seconds and made the quarter mile in 8.90 seconds on its best run. It made a total of five passes, and the slowest time was 8.95 seconds at 155 MPH. This officially makes this car the fastest S650 Mustang in the world, and the team at EVO Performance said they aren’t done yet.

This Mustang Is Faster Than A Bugatti

Going this fast is nothing new. There are dedicated cars built for drag racing, but this is not a dedicated drag car. This was a customer car but was driven by a professional racer with a full interior weighing over 4,200 pounds. It has all the creature comforts of the latest Mustang and can be driven on the street like a regular Mustang. The value proposition here is huge, since you get hypercar levels of power and performance for pennies compared to what those cars cost. This is almost as fast as the electric Rimac Nevera Hypercar which costs over $2 million, It is much faster than any Bugatti, and that costs over $4 million.

Now, this is not cheap by any means. A Mustang Dark Horse costs around $70,000, and the Whipple supercharger costs $10,000. Add that with the other supporting mods, suspension upgrades, and labor, you’re probably spending around $50,000. So, for $120,000 or less, you’re confident you have a car that can’t be beat on the road. But you do need to be a good driver to handle this car, or else you’ll just become another Mustang statistic.
