Among Japanese bikemakers in the US, Honda has the most elaborate dual-sport and dirt bike lineup. The range starts from 50cc and goes all the way to 650cc, ensuring there’s something for anyone and everyone. But things can always get better, and Honda is trying to do just that for MY26. That’s because the bikemaker has just filed documents for a new entry-level dual-sport/trail bike for the American market. Let’s dive in.
The New Honda CRF300F Is US-Bound For Model Year 2026
In the recent past, Honda has brought some uncanny motorcycles to the US that were previously limited to other markets. For instance, the Navi was an India-only mini scooter, while the XR150L had been on sale in Asia for years before its US arrival. The CRF300F follows the same trend. It has been announced in Brazil as of now, but Honda has certified it with CARB (California Air Resources Board) as part of the 2026 US lineup, too.
When will it arrive, you ask? Well, Honda has already announced a large chunk of its 2026 lineup in the US. This includes both the returning and updated models. So we expect all-new models like the CRF300F to make their debut in the near future via separate announcements. Once here, the 300F is expected to replace the CRF250F.
You should know the 250 has been part of the US lineup for some years, but there’s no mention of the quarter-liter CRF in the 2026 filings. If that’s the case, the CRF300F will end up with a variety of rivals, such as:
- Kawasaki KLX300R
- Kawasaki KLX230R
- Kawasaki KLX230
- CSC TT250
A 293cc, Single-Cylinder Engine Powers The Honda CRF300F
Since we already have the CRF300L here, it’s right to expect the CRF300F to share the same 286cc, single-cylinder engine. But that’s not the case. The 300F will feature a 293cc, single-cylinder engine that’s never come to the US. It produces about 24 horsepower and 20 pound-feet via a six-speed transmission. That is right in the ballpark of the KLX300.
Elsewhere, things are as simple as you’d expect on an entry-level dual-sport. The suspension comprises telescopic forks and a monoshock, attached to a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheel. This is topped with petal disc brakes, knobby tires, and an aluminum swingarm. Exact dimensions are still under wraps, however.
